Enterprise Zone

An Enterprise Zone is a state designation for selected areas in need of economic growth and diversification. It provides various state tax credits to encourage private businesses to locate and/or expand within the zone area.

Basically, U.S. Highway 40 from Berthoud Pass to the I-70 Junction, east on I-70 to the twin tunnels is included in the Enterprise Zone.

• 3% investment tax credit.
• $500 new employee tax credit.
• $500 tax credit for agricultural, manufacturing or processing facilities.
• $200 new employee health insurance tax credit.
• Manufacturing equipment from state sales and exempted use tax.
• Research and development tax credit.
• 25% tax credit to rehabilitate vacant buildings.
• 25% tax credit for private contributions to zone projects.
• Local government tax incentives.
• Qualified job training program tax credit.
